The stainless-steel pistons should offer good wear resistance and dependable valve action when properly maintained. The phosphor-bronze leadpipe provides greater corrosion resistance than an ordinary yellow-brass leadpipe. The nickel-silver tuning slides are more resistant to corrosion and wear at frequently handled slide areas. The 8.27-inch upright bell produces the traditional alto-horn appearance and projects the sound upward. Its .465-inch bore is moderate for an alto horn and should provide a comfortable balance between airflow and resistance.
